The URI members have decided to present a petition against terrorism to the President of India Ms PRATIBHA PATIL. A signature campaign was launched in which all the students participated extensively.
The URI members celebrated the international day of peace in school. Students were asked to light candles outside their homes to mark the day. They observed 1 min silence in the memory of those who had lost their lives due to terrorism.

7 students members of URI accompanied by Ms Rubal Sharma and Mr Sanjay Mishra attended the URI Global Assembly on peace and communal harmony in MAYAPUR West Bengal from 22nd nov- 27th nov 2008 where they indulged themselves in the inter faith and intra faith inquiry and gained valuable insight and understanding of their faith and that of others.

A peace week was celebrated during the month of November in school. Inter class activities were organized by the members of URI.. The activities included essay writing, card making and poster making.

ON 2ND OF OCTOBER URI members along with other students of our school participated in a peace march lead by world renowned peace maker Zen master Thich Naht Hahn a Buddhist monk at Rajpath. The students were accompanied by our principal Mrs. Vandana Puri and Mr. Sanjay Mishra.
The members of URI Salwan Public School participated in a 3 day camp organized by GOONJ organization where all of us got a chance to mix up with children from rural India. This three day camp was an eye opener for many of us who had not seen what rural India is like. We presented a skit showing the problems of rural children. They played games, participated in a drawing competition, exchanged stories and danced with our friends from villages. This camp ended with everybody exchanging addresses and phone numbers and with promises to meet next year.
